3 month contract, 14 hours per week (0.4 FTE), based in Westminster, London.

We are now seeking a research intern to assist on a research project on health and wellbeing in Japan, conducted at the Centre for Workforce Effectiveness. This is part of a larger ‘Fit for Work Programme’. The job would be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience of working in a fast-paced and challenging think tank environment.
We are looking for applicants who
• would be able to read and speak Japanese at an Upper-Intermediate or Advanced level (required);
• have demonstrable research skills and experience in reviewing literature, data collection and analysis;
• have completed an undergraduate degree or are completing/completed a postgraduate degree.
Preference would be given to candidates with a strong interest in applied research into health and wellbeing.

Executive Assistant to the Directors - St James's Park, London - £25,000-30,000
A new post as executive assistant has come available to both internal and external candidates. The role will provide executive and administrative support to the The Work Foundation Leadership Group (LG); to support the development of positive linkages across The Work Foundation with the rest of Lancaster University and to provide some PA support for the The Work Foundation Director and the Director of the Centre for Workforce Effectiveness (CWE).
Job Description
Working primarily with the The Work Foundation Director, the successful candidate will need to identify and ensure timely follow-through of action points from Leadership Group meetings including effective communication of information from the Leadership Group to all levels of the organisation. In addition, the role entails some preparation of meeting agendas and supporting documentation followed by the recording of Leadership Group decisions.
The right candidate is also required to work with the University's Senior Management Representative by ensuring that agreed actions are followed through from the The Work Foundation Board (Landec) and the University Research and Development Board (RDB).
Other daily duties includes ensuring there is an efficient filing system for The Work Foundation Board and Research Development Board documents and other joint bodies at The Work Foundation as well as maintaining an accurate diary including arranging meetings, appointments and travel arrangements and assisting with their administrative affairs.
Some occasional tasks involves undertaking discrete pieces of research and presentational work at the request of the Director and to help support some internal HR related processes, working with the HR University partner and appropriate Leadership Group members.
Person Specification
The right person for this role has a substantial amount of experience as an executive assistant (EA) preferably to a Senior Manager or Managing Director. They will have a good knowledge of Current Affairs, Web Research skills and are able to write letters and reports to a high standard. It is vital that they possess the ability to identify and implement improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and that they have a flexible attitude to change. It is essential that the right person holds some form of secretarial qualification and it would be desirable to have a degree or equivalent qualification.
In addition, this role requires a person with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, remain calm under pressure, work well in a team but still be able to self manage and remain self motivated, diplomatic and confident. Due to the nature of the role it is vital to have an eye for detail and enjoy planning and making travel arrangements.
