The Event
The UK population is ageing with implications for employers of all sizes. With the Default Retirement Age abolished in October 2011, employers are having to reconsider how they manage their older workforce and the challenges this might bring. So what have employers been doing in practice? Is it ever justified to impose a mandatory retirement age or should employers be focusing on investing in the engagement of all their staff?
At the other end of the age spectrum, the UK is witnessing record youth unemployment with over one million young people now without work. The government is encouraging employers of all sizes to consider ways in which to bring young people into the workforce, whether it be through work experience, apprenticeships or internships. This seminar considered this cohort and how employers can best navigate the potential legal issues.
