Job City Plus: why cities hold the key to tackling unemployment
With Tesco
The second event contrasted economic predictions that the South East and the middle classes were expected to bear most of the recession’s weight with the fact that the highest areas of unemployment in the UK are the areas which were already suffering from high rates of joblessness. The focal point was how cities could address and decrease their unemployment rates.

Speakers at the event included Lord Oakeshott, Dave Simmonds of CESI, John Philpott of CIPD, Emma Reynolds from Tesco and Michelle Mahdon of the Work Foundation. Steve Overell of The Work Foundation chaired the event.
