Creative Economy Network Partnership

[In today's world] the chances are strong that the music playing will be British, that the books in the bookshop will be British, that the software and the designers will be British - that is how we are known, as exporters of culture and ideas. Britain no longer gives boilers and iron girders to the world, we give colour and life and dynamism through art, imagination and cultural innovation.

Stephen Fry, quoted in Staying Ahead: the economic performance of the UK's creative industries

We believe that the creative economy is an important part of the UK's future prosperity. Since publishing 'Staying Ahead: The economic performance of the UK's creative industries' in June 2007, The Work Foundation has maintained a deep and engaged relationship with a large network of individuals and organisations from the creative industries.

Through the Creative Economy Network Partnership we seek to provide:

  • a unique network that helps creative organisations and leaders to explore issues and challenges pertinent to them
  • a forum to examine drivers and barriers to success
  • a platform to develop and express a coherent narrative around key strategic issues
  • a facility to establish an informed, independent, and collaboratively maintained picture of the state of the creative economy, its facts, trends and dynamics

To be launched in 2010.
