The programme, which ran from September 2008 to April 2009, focused on improving the confidence, effectiveness, impact and engagement of the university’s top 16 leaders across the institution.
Commenting on the prestigious award, Penny Tamkin, director of the Leadership Programme at The Work Foundation, said:
"Leadership matters more than ever at a time when higher education institutions are under fierce competition to secure funding and compete. Great leadership helps organisations flourish through a vibrant community of engaged and committed leaders that are continuously adapting to their organisation’s complex challenges. It is an honour to be recognised for our contribution to the University of York’s well-deserved success."
