
Many organisations tell us they are facing two competing pressures in the current climate. First, they have to achieve more output, more efficiently, with the same or less resource. Second, they have to maintain engagement and health in their workforce at a time when chronic physical illness and mental health issues among employees are set to get worse as the workforce ages.
We have spent the last decade carrying out research, advising employers and influencing policy-makers to place workplace health higher up the agenda in the UK. Indeed The Work Foundation has a strong reputation – both in the UK and in Europe – as a centre of excellence in this field.
